In this post, you will be recommended the best paid surveys online in Australia that pay cash. Find surveys which can earn you up to $20 AUD per hour! The pay per hour is used to make it easy to compare with hourly wages in Australia. The online paid survey panels are judged as the “best” based on how fast you can earn money for amount of time spent doing surveys, so the more money a survey panel rewards the participant per amount of time it takes to do a survey, the better value the panel.

Example: A panel which rewards $2 for a 10-minute survey is better than a panel which rewards $25 for a 5-hour survey. If you did 5 hours-worth of the 10-minute surveys, each for $2, you would get $60 in the 5 hours (there are 30 lots of 10 minutes in 5 hours –> $2 * 30 = $60). That’s $35 more than if you did the one 5-hour survey for only $25!

In addition, you may also be offered special opportunities such as to be part of a “focus group”, online discussions, product testing, paid extra to record yourself and other things. Typically, these opportunities pay more than the usual survey rate and can be more than $20 AUD per hour. But in my experience, they are probably rarer.

Further, you are paid based on the estimated amount of time specified by the survey, not how long you took to do the survey. What does this mean? So if you complete surveys faster than the expected time, you earn at a faster rate than the expected amount! 

Example: A survey pays $3 for an estimated time of 10 minutes. This is a value of $18 per hour. However, you complete the survey within 8 minutes. This then is essentially a value of $22.50 per hour ($3 / 8 minutes * 60 minutes / hour = $22.50 / hour)!

Although, you may also taken longer than expected to do a survey which would result in you earning slower than expected.

Getting paid for online surveys is very easy. Just sign up to a paid online survey panel, which is like the provider which invites you to do surveys, do surveys, and get rewarded in cash for your time and opinion! Do surveys any time and anywhere you have access to the internet! You can stop and exit the survey at any time without consequence. You are not required to commit your time or money, simply be rewarded for the time and effort you put in! On the other hand, I have heard some “survey panels” charge you money. I have never encountered such panels, but it may be better avoid those. Survey panels value your time and opinion, and should be paying you!

You can also earn money from some survey panels by referring other users to the panel. Such panels may reward you some amount of money for each user you refer, which can be an even faster way to earn if you can refer people very fast. For example, if you get $1 per user referred, you can get up to $100 for referring 100 users, and if you could refer that many people in just an hour, that’s an earning of $100 in just an hour! Amazing value!

In some survey panels, when a survey you are doing screens you out (disqualifies you due to you not fitting the requirements), you may also get a “screen out” reward which is a small amount of money usually less than 20 cents. In the event you screen out quickly a lot, the small reward can add up and can be quite good for earning fast.

Example: A panel gives you 20 cents per screen out and you screen out within only 30 seconds of doing each survey. In an hour, with just screen outs, you earn $24!

Note, however, that you are required to reach a minimum amount of credit before you can cash out to your bank account or paypal, etc. For example, the survey panel might require you to earn at least $20 before you can cash out.

It is recommended to join many panels because, the more panels you join, the more surveys you can be offered to do.

The list of best paid surveys online in Australia that pay cash

Find below the list of survey panels ranked in order of best value (most pay per time spent doing surveys). There are 9 that I have encountered which I think are worth the time. Join all these panels and you may be have enough survey invitations to do surveys for about 2 hours per day. I include the links to the panels as well as a convenience. Note, that some of the links are referral links which might give me credit if you use them in the way described in the previous section. However, it should have no effect on you whether you use the referral link or not. It only affects the referrer (me in this case).

1. Opinion Bureau

Value: up to $32 AUD per hour
Screen out reward: N/A
Minimum cash out amount: $10 AUD
Referral bonus: $1 AUD per referral

Comments: Opinion Bureau’s surveys can offer a lot of value with some surveys claiming to pay $8 AUD for 15 minutes which would earn you $32 if you did 4 of those and it would only take an hour. Their $1 AUD reward per person you refer can be a quick way to get money just for referring people. The minimum required amount to cash out is only $10 AUD which will let you cash out without too much time. Although I have found that they do not offer surveys very often and quite a few surveys I’ve tried with them screened me out. However, it may be different for you. It is worth a try as you will only lose a few minutes of time at worse.

2. Humaniti​

Referral bonus: $2 AUD per referral

Comments: Humaniti is relatively new service and its main focus doesn’t seem to be delivering surveys. Instead, they seem to be more of an data display to help you manage your financial accounts. I have personally not seen many invites for surveys from them, but of those that I have seen, the value is often as high as $20 AUD per hour.

3. Octopus Group​

Screen out reward: 5 cents
Minimum cash out amount: $20 AUD
Referral bonus: $1 per referral + $1 per first 19 surveys the referred person does for a total of $20 AUD

Comments: Octopus Group claims itself to be the best paying survey panel in Australia, which would probably true if it wasn’t for Humaniti and Opinion Bureau, but those two seem to not very frequently offer surveys. However, surveys are worth at $16.80 AUD per hour and never less. They also have a screen out reward of 5 cents if you are screened out of a survey. The referral bonus of up to $20 per referral if they referred does $19 surveys is also a great way to earn fast.

4. YourOpinion​

Value: usually $10 to ~$12 AUD per hour
Screen out reward: 20 cents
Minimum cash out amount: $20 AUD
Referral bonus: 10 entries into a $1000 AUD prize draw per referral

Comments: YourOpinion usually offers around $10 to $12 AUD worth of reward for every total hour of time you spend doing surveys. They also give you 20 cents for every survey you are screened out of. However, the referral bonus is only a prize draw which means you may be likely to earn nothing and you are only allowed to refer people you know via an email invitation.

5. Pureprofile​

Value: usually $9.6 to ~$13 AUD per hour
Screen out reward: 10 cents
Minimum cash out amount: $20 AUD
Referral bonus: up to $2 AUD per referral

Comments: Pureprofile usually offers around $9.6 to ~$13 AUD worth of reward for every total hour of time you spend doing surveys. They also give you 10 cents for every survey you are screened out of. The referral bonus of $2 per referral is also good. However, users are only allowed to cash out a maximum of $70 AUD every 60 days which means you can only cash out about $420 AUD a year.

6. Prolific​

Value: at least £5 per hour (£5 is about $9.51 AUD right now)
Screen out reward: Not sure (don’t remember ever being screened out)
Minimum cash out amount: £5
Referral bonus: N/A

Comments: Prolific seems to be a panel which offers questionnaires from academic researchers for their academic studies. Your answers and opinions will go toward supporting scientific studies. They also have a policy which requires the study rewards be worth at least £5 per hour that the study is estimated to take to do (so every second you should get at least £0.0833). The minimum cash out of £5 means you can cash out quicker than some other surveys, but there seems to be a cut taken away for paypal fees which is waived only if you cash out more than £20 at a time. I do not ever recall being screened out of a study unlike other survey panels so I am not sure if there is a screen out reward. They do not seem to have a referral program.

7. Mobrog​

Screen out reward: N/A
Minimum cash out amount: $8
Referral bonus: $1.36 AUD per referral who does at least 3 surveys

Comments: Mobrog offers more value the longer the survey is. For example, 4-minute surveys give 43 cents (so in an hour you get $6.45) and 30-minute surveys give $4.06 (so in an hour you get $8.12). The $1.36 per referral is also good. Additionally, the minimum cash out amount of $8 means you can cash out very fast and you are only limited to a max cash out of $15 a day. This means you could potentially cash out $15 * 365 = $5475 per year! Although, sadly, there is no screen out reward.

8. Panel Champ

Value: some surveys as little as less than $1 AUD per hour and some as much as $20.4 AUD per hour

Minimum cash out amount: $17 AUD

Comments: Panel Champ offers no screen out reward and has no referral program. The rewards for surveys are not consistent at all and you can get offered some really low value surveys like $0.17 AUD for 20 minutes (about 51 cents an hour), but some are better value like $1.36 for 10 minutes ($8.16 per hour) and $0.34 for 1 minute ($20.4 per hour). Their minimum cash out amount of $17 AUD is not bad, but a small amount (about 33 cents) seems to be taken out for paypal fees.

8. Opini Surveys

Comments: Opini Survey’s user interface seems to be identical to that of Panel Champ’s for some reason, but have an orange colour instead of the blue colour of Panel Champ. All other properties seem to be identical to Panel Champ as well. It offers no screen out reward and has no referral program. The rewards for surveys are not consistent at all and you can get offered some really low value surveys like $0.17 AUD for 20 minutes (about 51 cents an hour), but some are better value like $1.36 for 10 minutes ($8.16 per hour) and $0.34 for 1 minute ($20.4 per hour). Their minimum cash out amount of $17 AUD is not bad, but a small amount (about 33 cents) seems to be taken out for paypal fees.
